Its easily interpreted & almost expected how this is born due to the absence of his loved one but is interesting how in the last ones -making use of more astute and mature writing skills- Harry points out the “ reason why” he feels like that complaining about it, making it obvious how “ someone” is taking his place and it’s killing him. The metaphor used to describe the love-pain reaching dying like feeling its repeated in what could be read as the same circumstances. Dated in 2013, but this song was meant to be in the album TMH and it was released in Nov 2012. Throughout his career Harry has bled for love in 3 remarkable mlments: “ I will be at your door” - Meet me in the Hallway His feminine & masculine sides are not coexisting in his public persona, he even tries to ignore it. “ She tells to her brother” “bro”/“pal”/ “male side” his intention of finally setting all the containment out, leading to face a passionate no “goodness” angel at all, she is free and uncontrollable. “ She is my angel, my only angel” Harry clearly accepts and welcomes this figure, stablishing how she is the only “female” he will ever own. ![]() They literally meet in the hallway -when one goes out, the other rests in- almost as unfolding one person in two. This is a very revealing part of Harry’s discovery journey, since we have listened to references of both identities considered but not coexisting. He knows “he is stuck” with both genders’ essences, he appreciates it & wants to enjoy them, he desperately asks for an invitation into the bedroom, as a representation of his intimate & private area, where to be him & her indistinctively, freely. In “Only Angel” H uses the angel metaphor -general knowledge: angels don’t have gender- encouraging himself to reflect on it without prejudices.
